Some parts of Florida are still recovering from our dust-up with Hurricane Matthew last year (here's my recap) but this year's hurricane season is fast approaching (June 1), and just this week we got our first named storm, a rarity for April. 

Today's article from the archives gives some good tips on what Florida residents should do to prepare in advance of a hurricane. I've been here 38 years and lived through several, but I was scrambling to find this article as Matthew approached last year.
